What does the Caribbean Region have to do with this Rice Lake Ontario Community website?

Well nothing directly, but we can commit that a small online entity out of Jamaica certainly was catalyst to the initial concept on one front. A brainchild of Delcey Dayman partially influenced by Negril.com of which she has been a long time and frequent participant using the site to communicate with far away friends and keeping tabs on the fun and sun region through the site - the desire was set.

For some time now Delcey, local to the region, often pondered the idea of instituting a similar project here in the north knowing that the Rice Lake region could use an online regional sounding board, reference centre, information exchange and promotional vehicle for the region.

The concept was simple and perhaps spartan at first, but as with most endeavours, things soon started to evolve into some grander potential. Not solely for the viability and potential makeup of the Rice Lake region but more for the lack of online representation that seemed to be missing.

Primarily a vehicle for establishing an online resource to encourage interaction and cohesion between the surrounding Rice Lake communities along the expansive lakeshore which despite its splendor and appreciation often geographically isolates communities as a result of its geographical scale and layout. It soon became apparent that there could be much more value to offer other than simply a regional portal for bridging Rice Lake community members. It could also reach out extensively to wider markets offering a promotional prowess to encourage and offer tourism to various marketplaces. With the state of the past couple years, and indeed in the dimness of the most recent situations experienced in this country of late, we all need to utilize all 'edges' within our potential. This medium is ideally suited to this practicality and it is our objective to use all our resources toward advantageous directives.

So here we have it, a small but (hopefully you'll agree) encouraging start toward greater prosperity for all in and around RICE LAKE TODAY and into the future.

Welcome and enjoy!
